Kai-hung Fung of Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital in Hong Kong grabbed this CT image, taken from below the nose looking up. While it looks like an exotic flower, this shows the structure of stuff underneath the human nose.

Engineering grad student Adam Siegel and chemist George M. Whitesides of Harvard University snagged an Honorable Mention in the photo category for this image of a new type of metal that can be tied up in a knot but still conducts electricity.
